My passion for helping people encountering life's challenges was a big part of my former role as a bereavement counselor with Hospice. My job allowed me to work not only with people who had lost a loved one, but also with others who were caregivers for Hospice patients and medical personnel. I provided compassionate support for my clients during one of the most difficult periods of their lives. I also ran several support groups, including specialty ones for loss of a spouse, loss due to COVID, and one specifically for support during the holiday season. Before becoming a social worker, I was a teacher, and that experience has been especially helpful in my work with groups.

Meet Jeannie

Licensed counselor in Florida

Currently accepting telehealth clients from throughout Florida weekdays between 8am and 1pm.

In-person visits on Friday mornings in Lutz, Florida.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who provides mental health counseling through telehealth. I have spent most of my counseling career since 2020 working for Hospice as a bereavement counselor. Before that, I was a Florida educator, teaching both history and language arts to middle and high school students. I received my master's degree in social work from Florida State University and my master's degree in teaching from St. Leo University.

I am a mom to four wonderful kids, three of whom are adults, and two of whom are adopted. I am also a member of the "sandwich generation" and have been a caregiver to my parents, whose challenges have included Parkinson's, dementia, strokes, and cancer. I am committed to helping clients navigate the roles that life often hands them without warning. These roles can include grandparents raising grandchildren, parenting special needs children with big behaviors, caring for aging family members, and needing that extra support when a loved one is seriously ill or passes away.

What challenges has the world thrown at you? And how can I help you bring those rockets back down to Earth and get your life back in order?
